Scranton Honors Program

Program Description

Program Description

During their freshmen year, Scranton Honors Program students will take the courses, "Thinking and Writing" and "Writing and Discussion", which are specifically designed for SHP students. They will also participate in the "Scranton Seminar", an intensive course where one professor and five students will have a chance to communicate and connect intimately with each other. Starting in their second year, SHP students will choose their primary major along with an additional SHP major. The Scranton Honors Program offers five core tracks for this additional major: (Integrated Studies of Culture), (Digital Humanities), (Initiatives in Social Sciences), (Convergence of Sciences), or (Society and Justice). SHP students may also create a self-designed major which needs to be certified by the Program. The course, “Honors Thesis” is required for students in their final year.
