[2019-1 Application for Ewha Future Design Scholarship]

2019-1 Ewha Future Design Scholarship supports self-directed future planning of undergraduate students.

Ewha Future Design Scholarship is a new form of scholarship program.This program does not examine grades or household finances of students receiving the scholarship. The nominees will be selected only based on the future plans written by the students. The scholarship recipients will implement the future plan for one year. For students’ successful goal achievement in desired fields, the program also involves consultation and guidance by professors in terms of planning detailed implementation and budgeting (plans for using scholarship), mentoring in the course of implementation, etc.

1. Eligible applicants

a. Students registered in 5^th-7^th semesters in 2019-1 can apply.

※ As for Department of Pharmacy, 9^th-11^thsemesters; as for Department of Architecture, 7^th-9^thsemesters.

b. Selection criteria: Future Design Plan is the only measure of examination (unrelated to grades or household finances).

※ One nomination only during the whole attending period.

c. Individual applications are accepted. The same applies for startups.

d. Implementation period: 1 year

2. Scholarship amount: Maximum 4,000,000 Won (paid in two installments)

- Scholarship can overlap with other scholarships, and exceed tuition fee.

- First payment: 2,000,000 Won will be paid upon nomination.

- Second payment: Upon student submission of result report, either 0/1,000,000/2,000,000 Won will be paid according to examination result of each student.

※ Examination will be based on the result report submitted by the student and the final written opinion of the recommending professor.

※ If the student takes a leave of absence after nomination, scholarship will be withdrawn, but it will be paid in the returning semester. In this case, submission of interim and final result reports is required.

※ Even if the student is dispatched as exchange student during the implementation period of future design (April-December 2019), she must implement her future plan and submit report in designated period.

3. Application period and important schedule

4. Documentation

※ All completed documents must be scanned in the below specified order and attached as one single file.

a. Future Design Plan

 - Desired field of career: finding job, studying further (Ewha/Korea/Overseas), startup, etc.

 - Future Design goal: short-term goals and long-term goals in the corresponding field

 - Future Design contents: motivation for goal setting and explanation on it

- Future Design implementation plan: implementation plan details and schedule, plan of using scholarship, plan of connected guidance and consultation of recommending professor

- Result of Future Design implementation: result expected by the student, plans to contribute to Ewha community after graduation

- How to write:

  ① If future design requires long term performance, the student must write specifically about plans during the scholarship grant period (1 year), out of the whole planned schedule.

  ② Considering that scholarship amount differs according to examination of final report, the student needs to write viable goals and implementation plans for one year.

  ③ The scholarship cannot be used for tuition fee, nor can it be used for matters unrelated to future design.

b. Recommendation Letter by Professor

 - Letter must be received from Ewha full-time professor, who can consult and guide student for scholarship period (1 year).

 - Ask a professor who is related with the field of your interest, not necessarily your academic advisor or someone from your major.

 - Please note that one professor can recommend one student.

c. Consent of Providing Personal Information: see attached form

5. Application process

a. Preparation (at Korean page of My Eureka)

 1) 마이유레카(My Eureka)-학사(Academic Affairs)-학생종합정보(Student Information)-나의계좌입력(My Bank Account)

   - Write your bank account (which has you as holder)

   - Regular savings account of bank in Korea

 2) Download and fill out the provided forms of Ewha Future Design Plan, Recommendation Letter by Professor and Consent of Providing Personal Information.

b. Apply Online at Korean page of My Eureka: 마이유레카(My Eureka)-학사(Academic Affairs)-장학(Scholarship)-장학금 신청(Apply Scholarship)

 1) Check if your personal information (mobile number, account number) is correct. (You can make changes at ‘Personal Information’)

 2) Press 신청(apply) and direct to application page. Check once again basic information on the application page.

 3) Click the magnifying glass button to search for your recommending professor. Enter professor’s name and check if the professor’s name and affiliation are correct. Press exit and save.

 4) Select desired field of career.

 5) Scan the completed Future Design Plan, Recommendation Letter by Professor, and Consent of Providing Personal Information into one single file and attach the file.

6) After filling out, press ‘임시저장’ to save.

7) Check carefully if all fields are completed. If so, click 신청(apply).

6. Requirements for Scholarship Recipients

 - Implement Future Design plans for one year (must consult with your recommending professor)

 - Submit two reports (must consult with your recommending professor at the end of each semester, before submitting report)

 - Report your decision about career after graduation
