Information on International Studies Intership Courses

 

1. Purpose: To provide opportunities to search for career after graduation during internship period by approving credits to International Studies students (in years 3-4) who accumulated professional experience through internship in International Studies major related fields.

3. Guidelines on Credit Approval for Internship

   3.1. Eligibility: International Studies students of years 3-4 who have completed at least 4 semesters and done internship in an institution of International Studies major related area (not exceeding 6 months after performing internship) or are expected to complete internship.

   3.2. Eligible Institutions: International organizations, NGO, embassies and public institutions and corporations including finance, administration and business organizations.

   3.3. Process of Credit Approval:

       3.3.1. Application for Credit Approval: To confirm whether it is possible to approve the internship the student is performing.

           3.3.1.1. Application Deadline: 1 month before the semester(Summer/Winter included) start when one intends to get internship approved(generally during course registration period).

           3.3.1.2. Applicaton Method:

i) Fill out the application form in the attachment, get approval by your academic adviser (지도교수) and the Chair of International Studies (전공주임교수), and submit the form to the DIS office (IEB 707) by the end of course change period. (This does not mean final credit approval.)

ii) Using the attached Ewha Field Placement Agreement form, make an agreement firstly between the internship institution and the student, and then submit the signed agreement form to the office of International Studies. (Contact dis@ewha.ac.kr for English version to be used for overseas internship.)

iii) Submit the accident insurance documents together with the Ewha Field Placement agreement form.

3.3.2. Internship Course Registration: Register 1 intership course that one intends to get approval of, and that would match the performing hours during course registration period.

3.3.3. Submission of Daily Business Log, Intership Report, Internship Confirmation and Evaluation

      3.3.3.1. Deadline: Spring Semester(end of May), Fall Semester(end of November), Summer/Winter(within 2 weeks after semester start)

      3.3.3.2. Method: Find Internship Report , Intership Confirmation(to be completed by the instution) and Internship Evaluation(to be completed by the institution) in the attachment, follow their instructions/fill out the form and submit them to International Studies office. Daily business log has no given format.

 

4. Notes

   4.1. Even when exceeding 450 hours of internship performance, only 1 application at one time (maximum 3 credits).

   4.2. For the internship confirmation, form made by each institution may be accepted.

   4.3. Not submitting relevant documents after course registration will result in “Fail” in the grades.

   4.4. Credit processing may be completed within 6 months after internship completion, after which credits will not be approved.

  4.5 Internship course registration will not be possible unless the Ewha Field Placement agreement form and accident insurance documents are submitted before starting internship .
